I want to get a facelift, but I am concerned about an overly tight appearance and desire a more natural look?

Facelifts do not necessarily have to look tight.  The facelift should be an added boost to your look and not take it over.  The “tight” effect is a result of an over zealous surgeon who tightens the skin only and does not tighten the muscle as well.

Note: the postoperative result does not appear pulled or stretched.

This is the result of the Younger You technique.

Mid-Face vs Traditional Facelift

A traditional facelift, while the appearance of the neck and jaw line are improved, does not correct the “droopiness” of the middle of the face.  A Mid-face Lift procedure can lift sagging cheeks and smooth out nasal furrows.

Some plastic surgeons try to move the skin by pulling sideways and doing a “nip and tuck”. That is, the excess skin, which had lost its elasticity, had to be excised (nipped) and then the incision closed (tucked).  Dr. Burden and Dr. Ennis’ Younger You facelift utilizes techniques of the SMAS facelift, otherwise known as the S-lift or deep plane facelift, placing less tension on the skin, thus avoiding the “swept back” appearance of a “skin only” facelift.  This results in a more natural, refreshed appearance.

A Mid-face lift can be performed alone, but is recommended in combination with an endoscopic browlift or as part of a full facelift to achieve the best results.  During your consultation with Destin Plastic Surgery, it will be determined what procedure is best to achieve best results for you.
